Socialite Paris Hilton was paid $150,000 US just to make an appearance at trendy London nightclub Mahiki on Monday night — and arrived two hours late, Showbiz Spy reports.
Hilton, 27, turned up to the Mayfair club — a favourite haunt of Prince Harry’s — with her boyfriend Benji Madden, downed cocktails, did a DJ spot and then left after only 50 minutes.
The hotel heiress didn’t arrive at the club until 1:40 a.m., and its bosses were frantically phoning her to see where she was — because she was having her hair and nails done and was sleeping because she was tired after all her travelling.
Hilton apparently made the most of what little time she spent at Mahiki. After drinking champagne, she reportedly demanded the $200 Treasure Chest cocktail — a brandy and peach liqueur, topped with champagne and served in a chest.
Madden, however, remained unfazed by his girlfriend’s behaviour.
“She’s very warm and sweet,” Madden said of Hilton. And when asked if he thought she was a diva, he said, “I have never met that Paris Hilton. I have never seen that side of her. She is actually very different. She is very sweet and caring. I have never heard her talk about money or her background or showing off. She is actually very down-to-earth.”
Hilton’s parents appear to be just as fond of Madden, who is the guitarist for the band Good Charlotte.
“It’s a great love match,” Hilton’s mom Kathy Hilton reportedly told Vegas Luxe Blog. “I have a funny feeling it’s going to go all the way, and we’ve already given it our approval.”
