Park stabbing victim sent to hospital

A forensic investigation disrupted the early morning commute for motorists battling rush hour yesterday, after a woman was stabbed in a Whyte Avenue-area park.

Police cordoned off a section of Joe Morris Park along 109 Street and 78 Avenue, and searched the area of a treed walking path for evidence.

The stabbing occurred just before 8 a.m. The victim was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not laid any charges in connection with the incident, and say the victim has been unco-operative with investigators.
