Party buses may hit streets

They are fun, wild and a bit noisy — and alderman Andre Chabot does not want to completely rock the bus.

A report due back from the Community and Protective Services committee in December may have Chabot suggesting amendments to city bylaws to include party buses.

“There are no established standards,” said Chabot. “We want everyone on an equal playfield.”

Chabot’s main focus is to make sure party buses provide a safe environment for the patrons and the public.

Tom Malin, president and founder of Party Machine party buses, supports the idea of a standard set of operating rules but does not want to be left out of the decision making process.

“We know the industry best and we should be a part of it,” said Malin.
