Alberta’s Liberal party says its president is calling it quits.
Tony Sansotta says he will still continue to volunteer for the party, including with fundraising and preparing the party for the upcoming election.
“No one has worked harder than (Sansotta) at improving our financial situation and getting us ready for the next election,” said provincial Liberal leader David Swann in a news release.
Swann says the Liberals will continue appealing to the Alberta Party, the New Democrats, and former Green party supporters to drum up support in an attempt to oust the ruling Tory government during the next election.
However, Alberta New Democrat Leader Brian Mason said last week that his party would not form a coalition with the Liberals — a party he had described as a “train wreck.”
