Past director of non-profit gets 18 months for stealing

A former executive director of the Northeast Capital Industrial Association (NCIA) has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for stealing just over $315,000 from the non-profit organization.

A former executive director of the Northeast Capital Industrial Association (NCIA) has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for stealing just over $315,000 from the non-profit organization.

David Gordon Onuczko held the position for seven years between 2001 and 2008. During his term, Onuczko was authorized by the NCIA board of directors for single signing of cheques up to $10,000.

In November 2009, Onuczko pleaded guilty to one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of theft over $5,000. The theft charge was conditionally stayed.
