Woman was crossing the road at Romans Avenue and Bayers Road when she was struck

A woman was sent to the hospital after being hit by a car Friday morning.

Halifax police say the 57-year-old woman was crossing the road at Romans Avenue and Bayers Road when she was struck.

She was taken to the QE2 with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was given a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.
