The Halifax Pelham Canadians got their first win of the season on Friday night against the Sydney Sooners, then had a doubleheader rematch rained out on Saturday.
Halifax dumped host Sydney 7-2, scoring four runs with two out in the sixth inning at Susan MacEachern Field.
The defending champion Canadians are 1-1. They’re back in action Wednesday on the road against the first-place Kentville Wildcats, who are well ahead of the pack at 4-0.
