Two explosions were heard in Copley Square Monday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. at the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street.

 

The area is on lockdown as runners and fans have left the area. [embedgallery id=134983]

 

The hotel that serves as the headquarters for the Boston Marathon is also on lock down.

 

People took to twitter to react to the explosions.

Marathon Monday is a joyous occasion in the city of Boston as many people do not work and head toward Boylston Street to watch the runners cross the finish line.
