Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a “person of interest” in a string of 11 arsons in South and East Vancouver dating back to Oct. 7.
The man, who was wearing a powder-blue hoodie with “New York” across the front, purchased a small jerry can of gas from a service station at East 57th Avenue and Knight Street on Nov. 23. Investigators said it was out of the ordinary to be purchasing such a small amount of gas in the winter. Such purchases are common in the summer when people are using gas-powered mowers and gardening equipment.
