Petes win 5-1 over Frontenacs

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Alan Quine scored two goals and added two assists as the Peterborough Petes won 5-1 over the Kingston Frontenacs in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.

Lino Martschini also scored two goals for the Petes (22-19-6), who scored on two of their first four shots of the game.

Nick Ritchie added a single while Billy Jenkins had the only goal for Kingston (13-30-4). Andrew D’Agostini made 31 saves to earn the win.

Ritchie opened the scoring at 4:36 of the first period, one-timing a perfect pass from behind the net by Martschini low to the corner past Igor Bobkov. Martschini slapped home the eventual winner almost nine minutes later.

Jenkins pulled the Frontenacs within one, tapping a rebound into the open net a minute and a half later, but Martschini restored the two-goal lead less than two minutes after that. Quine ripped home a pair of goals in the last 2:07 as the Petes pulled away.

Bobkov made 30 saves.
