I was alarmed when I read your article. I understand both sides of this argument, but the main issue is the exploitation of the public in terms of means of payment. My concern is with the doctors who have accepted a code of ethics and have decided to abandon it for profit.

The Canadian Medical Association’s code of ethics states that a physician should "Consider first the well being of the patient," and second "Treat all patients with respect; do not exploit them for personal advantage."
I hope Health Minister George Abbott agrees and challenges all doctors at the False Creek Urgent Care Centre to uphold the code of ethics they accepted, or apply to the College of Physicians and Surgeons to have their membership revoked.
