Plymouth defeats Sudbury 6-5 in overtime

SUDBURY, Ont. – J.T. Miller scored two goals, including the winner in overtime, and set up one more as the Plymouth Whalers edged the host Sudbury Wolves 6-5 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Andy Bathgate and Mitchell Heard had a goal and two assists each for the Whalers (33-12-3), who won their third game in a row, Beau Schmitz scored a goal and an assist while Alex Aleardi chipped in a single goal.

Nathan Pancel led the Wolves (24-16-4) with two goals, Samuel Schutt had a goal and an assist and Derek Schoenmakers and Andrey Kuchin had a goal apiece.

Matt Mahalak made 30 saves for the win while Johan Mattsson turned away 35 shots in defeat.

Plymouth went 2 for 6 on the power play as Sudbury scored once on four opportunities with the man advantage.
