Police advise residents to guard against break-ins

Halifax Regional Police are advising residents in the western half ofpeninsular Halifax that there has been a rash of break-ins sinceChristmas.

Halifax Regional Police are advising residents in the western half of peninsular Halifax that there has been a rash of break-ins since Christmas.

Police say there have been 16 incidents where homes in the area have been broken into and items stolen, including laptops, musical instruments and video games.

Police say in most of the 16 break-ins, doors were left unlocked. They are advising everyone that keeping your doors and windows locked acts as a deterrent for anyone looking to get in.
