Police arrest Halifax man after multiple home break-ins

Halifax Regional Police have arrested a man who they allege entered several unlocked homes to steal property.

Isaac Mohamed Traore, 20, of Halifax is facing multiple charges of break and enter for robberies between Jan. 28 and March 1.

Police say stolen items include laptop computers, digital cameras and televisions. Police were eventually able to identify a suspect and searched a residence in the 100 block of Bland Street in south-end Halifax. They say they found a number of stolen items as well as prescription drugs that did not belong to the suspect.

Traore is also facing charges of possession of stolen property, drug possession and breach of probation. Police say all the homes involved were unlocked or insecure, making the robberies “crimes of opportunity.”
