The police arson unit has charged an Ottawa man with arson in connection with a fire at an abandoned building on Dean Martin Crescent Monday afternoon.
Fire crews arrived just before 1:30 p.m. to find a single-storey wood structure fully involved.
The building, an abandoned show home, was completely destroyed by the fire. Damages were estimated at $60,000.
Aaron Menzies, 20, is charged with one count of arson damage to property. He appears in court Sept. 8.
