Police charge suspects in two bank robberies

Ottawa police charged two city men today in connection with two unconnected bank robbery cases.

Police charged an 18-year-old man with two counts each of robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime and wearing a disguise in relation to two bank robberies at TD Canada Trust locations on Strandherd Drive and St. Joseph Boulevard on Oct. 4 and Oct. 11, respectively.

Benjamin Buda, 18, of Ottawa, was released with a promise to appear in court Feb. 9.

Police have also charged a 20-year-old Ottawa man with robbery, conspiracy to commit, utter threats and breach in relation to a robbery at the TD Canada Trust on Kilborn Avenue on Nov. 7.

Mohamed Ali Salad was held for a show cause hearing.
