Police close Bay Street to check out faked grenade threat

TORONTO - Police closed a section of Bay Street in downtown Toronto this morning after someone reported seeing what looked like a grenade next to a gas line.

TORONTO - Police closed a section of Bay Street in downtown Toronto this morning after someone reported seeing what looked like a grenade next to a gas line.

Const. Isabelle Cotton says Bay St. was closed between Gerrard Street and College Street just before 8:15 a.m.

Cotton says emergency services personnel determined the device was a fake grenade.

There was no evacuation and police have given the all-clear.
