Police confirmed Monday morning that a suspicious death in Vanier over the weekend is the city’s ninth homicide of 2010.
The Ottawa Police Service Major Crime Section identified the victim as 36-year-old Jennifer Leigh Stewart of Ottawa. Autopsy results released Monday showed that Stewart died as a result of stab wounds.
Her body was found in a parking lot in the 100 block of Alice Street on Friday.
Police canvassed the neighbourhood over the weekend, but there have been no arrests so far.
The investigation is ongoing.
