EDMONTON — Mounties in Alberta say the man they have been focusing on
in the disappearance of two seniors is now a suspect in the case.

Until now police have said Travis Vader was only a person of interest in the case of Lyle and Marie McCann.

The McCanns have not been seen for almost two months, since they left
their home in St. Albert, near Edmonton, on July 3rd, heading for a
rendezvous with relatives in B.C.

Two days later, their motorhome was found burned in a field near Edson, west of Edmonton.

Two weeks after that, the SUV the couple had been pulling in the
motorhome was found in the nearby Niton Junction area, which is home to
Vader.

Vader, 37, is in custody in Edmonton on unrelated charges, and police
aren’t saying what information they have that allowed them to bump up
Vader’s status to that of suspect.
