Police identify shooting victim at gas station

Police have identified a man found shot to death outside a South Vancouver gas station as 24-year-old Lionel Yisheng Tan.

“(Tan) was known to police and it appears to have been a targeted shooting related to drug activity, but it’s too early in the investigation to confirm that,” Const. Lindsey Houghton said on Tuesday.

The victim was found in the parking lot of a Husky service station at Southwest Marine Drive and 70th Avenue around 9:40 on Monday night.

A convertible BMW — possibly belonging to Tan — was found running at the scene, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
