Halifax Regional Police and officers from the RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section are looking into an arson at a home on Aarons Way that occurred during the brush fire, which began Thursday afternoon and lasted into Friday.

Police say the arson is believed to have occurred during the evacuation process.
“We can’t speculate on motive,” said HRP spokesperson Theresa Rath. “Certainly, there’s extensive damage to the interior of the house.”
The home was not destroyed. Police are continuing to investigate.
