BROCKVILLE — A two-year-old eastern Ontario boy is dead after being pulled from the fast-flowing, freezing water of a Brockville creek.

Brockville police said yesterday that Aaden Casey died Thursday at an Ottawa hospital.

Police Chief Adrian Geraghty says officers were still investigating how the toddler ended up in the water sometime around 12:30 p.m. earlier that day.

He says the boy was from a residence in the area and his parents were with him at the hospital.

Police received a call about a missing child Thursday afternoon.

A cyclist informed police he’d spotted the boy in the creek. Firefighters arriving at the scene found and quickly rescued the youngster.
