Police investigating two weekend sex assaults

Ottawa police continue to investigate two sexual assaults in the city over the weekend.

A 21-year-old woman in the city’s west end was sexually assaulted early Saturday morning, when a man broke into her Britannia area residence house and climbed on top of her while she slept.

When she screamed, a male came to her aid and chased the suspect out of the residence.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 20s. He is six feet tall with a medium build.

Around 2 a.m. on Friday morning, a male suspect pulled a woman in her 20s into an alley in the area of Dalhousie and Cathcart Streets. The woman was knocked to the ground, held down and inappropriately touched.

The suspect is a white male with short dark hair.

Ottawa police are also searching for a man who, on three occasions in April, was reportedly following and filming teenaged girls in either an older model red Mazda Hatchback or an older model beige Toyota Camry in the north end area of Jeanne D’Arc Boulevard and Orleans Boulevard.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa police at (613) 236-1222 ext. 5944.
