A bullet was fired into the air in Eastern Passage Monday night.
Halifax RCMP say at about 11:30pm, three to four males were breaking into a car on Shore Road when a resident saw what they were doing and yelled from a distance for them to stop.
Police say one of the suspects then yelled back, making threatening remarks. The suspect is then alleged to have taken out a shotgun from his car and fired one shot into the air.
Halifax RCMP spokesman Cpl. Joe Taplin said yesterday residents should try to refrain from involving themselves in situations like this.
“Firearms are always extremely dangerous,” Taplin said. “The RCMP is strongly suggesting any individuals who see suspicious behavior to call the RCMP right away.”
Police say the suspects fled the scene in a dark coloured Honda Civic. There were no injuries and no damage was done to the car.
