Edmonton Police have issued a warning about the recent release of a man it says poses a risk to the community.
Jamie White was released from the Edmonton Remand Centre April 15, after he completed a sentence for numerous offences including, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, utter threats, and failing to comply with a recognizance.
He also has several past sexual assault convictions.
He has plans to reside in the Edmonton area.
Police say White is considered to be a violent and sexual offender who poses a "risk of significant harm to the community."

"The Edmonton Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community about White," the service says in a release.
White is described as a white 35-year-old man, 5’9” (165 cm), 166 lbs. (75 kg.) with brown eyes and brown hair.
