Vancouver police issued a warning yesterday about a high-risk sex offender being released to a federal halfway house in Vancouver.

James Leo Gracie, 47, recently completed a seven-year sentence for sex assault and unlawful confinement against two Alberta girls aged seven and 14. He was also convicted of assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Squamish.

Gracie was released on a 10-year Long Term Supervision Order that requires him to meet conditions such as having no contact with anybody under the age of 18.
