Detectives could have another homicide case on their hands as a man’s body was discovered in the backyard of a Mill Woods home yesterday morning.
Sgt. Guy Kinney, a duty sergeant with Edmonton Police Services, says neighbours of the home at 40 Avenue and 61 Street phoned police around 8:15 a.m. who were “too scared to go into the backyard.”
Homicide detectives, along with forensic specialists, were called into the home to investigate what police believe is a suspicious death.
Kinney says an autopsy of the man could be expected today or tomorrow.
A large chunk of the alley, along with the entire house, was surrounded by police tape. Blood was also seen at a nearby fence.
Neighbours told police the man’s body was found face down covered in the snow.
