Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who sprayed a Quinpool Road jeweller with bear spray and robbed him last week.
The man, described as in his late teens or early 20s, entered Ash Jewelery just before 9:30 p.m. on April 9. He spent some time selecting an expensive gold chain. When he went to pay for it, he sprayed the store owner with the chemical irritant and then fled to a nearby vehicle.
The suspect is described as a five-foot-seven, clean-shaven, bi-racial male with an average build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, a black T-shirt with white and what appeared to be fake diamond earrings in both ears.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the photos or has information on the incident is asked to call police at 490-5016 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (800) 222-8477.
