Police make arrest in fatal stabbing

Calgary Police have charged a man in connection with a McKenzie Towne murder.

At about 1 a.m. on Thursday, police were called to a condo in the 4900 block of 130 Avenue
S.E., for a report of a man in medical distress. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Calgary EMS.

Dave Dupuis, 22, of Calgary died as a result of a stabbing.

A group of people were at the home when an altercation took place. It was during this altercation that Dupuis was injured.

Police have charged Richard Michael Sikora, 25, also known as Richard Michael Rancourt, with second-degree murder.

Sikora was arrested at a home in southwest Calgary.

Police say Dupuis’s death is not considered a random act, but ruled out gangland links.
