Police cordon off the area around 1450 Chestnut St. in Kitsilano where a woman’s body was found yesterday.

A woman’s body was found at a Kitsilano apartment early yesterday morning.

The unidentified body was carried away from the pea-green and vine-covered Parkview Towers apartment on Chestnut Street, southwest of Burrard Bridge at 10 a.m. yesterday. Police said there are no suspects at this time.

Police received a call at 3:46 a.m. about a possible break and enter, said Const. Tim Fanning yesterday.

“When officers arrived on scene they discovered this woman’s body in the back of 1450 Chestnut.”

Fanning said the body was found in the trails near the apartment’s parking lot.

“We don’t believe this was a random act, where someone was grabbed off the street,” he added.

Police towed a late-1990s Honda Civic from the scene in the early afternoon.

Fanning said they were also waiting on a search warrant for a fifth-floor suite late yesterday.

From her eighth-floor window, Jolene Andersen said she saw police officers surrounding a white covering tarp in the nearby trails 6 a.m. yesterday.

Katie Marcia is an 11th floor resident of the building for the past three years.

“There has never been a problem like this since we’ve been there,” she said.
