Police are investigating two cases of arson at the same Halifax apartment building on Sunday night.

Halifax Regional Police say they responded to a fire at 5651 Ogilvie St. after a small amount of paper was lit on fire in the fifth-floor hallway. Someone using wet towels extinguished the fire and there was very little damage.

An hour earlier, firefighters were also called to the apartment after a business card-size piece of paper had been lit on fire, which set off the smoke alarm.

That fire went out on its own without any damage.
