Calgary police are investigating after an infant boy died in hospital yesterday afternoon under suspicious circumstances.
Insp. Grant Miller said the investigation is in its early stages but confirmed both the homicide unit and child-abuse unit are involved.
“The incident was reported to police this morning by the Alberta Children’s Hospital,” he said, adding an autopsy will be conducted later this week.
“At this time, investigators are working to determine the events leading up to the child being brought to hospital.”
No other details are being released at this time, he added.
