Halifax Regional Police believe they have seized the second of two guns used in a drive-by shooting earlier this week in Dartmouth.
A resident called police after finding the firearm near Lake Banook, an HRP news release said Thursday, adding officers had already recovered another gun and bulletproof vest at an outside location after the shooting occurred Tuesday.
Halifax Regional Police say officers responded to several shots being fired from a dark blue Ford Fusion, or a similar vehicle, just before 9 p.m. that night. They were allegedly aiming for a 23-year-old man who was walking alone between Lakefront Road and Joffre Street, but no one was actually hurt.
Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said Wednesday the person they believe was the intended victim hasn’t been co-operating with police.
