In a news release issued Sunday, police identified Donald Chad Smith of Windsor Junction as the victim in the shooting.

Police have launched a murder investigation into the death. Smith was found with a severe wound on Joseph Young Street Saturday evening around 9:30 p.m..

Investigators were still on the scene Sunday interviewing residents of the apartment where the incident occurred and are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact them.

A woman who lives in an apartment nearby said she heard one shot around 9:30 p.m., which was loud enough to wake up her two-year-old child.

She said about an hour later police knocked on her door as they canvassed the neighbourhood. She said police told her the victim was a pizza delivery driver.
