Police seek help finding groper

Vancouver police want the public’s help in identifying a “person of interest” whose appearance is similar to the description of a man who groped a woman’s buttocks last week.

Vancouver police want the public’s help in identifying a “person of interest” whose appearance is similar to the description of a man who groped a woman’s buttocks last week.

On March 23, a woman was walking her dog along the seawall when a man approached her from behind, reached up her skirt and grabbed her buttocks.

Investigators released a surveillance tape yesterday from near the site, in the 700 block of Pacific Boulevard. It shows a young man, wearing a black hoodie and baggy blue jeans, walking toward the camera while smoking a cigarette.

Const. Lindsey Houghton said police are interested in the man because his clothing and appearance — he’s five-foot-seven with a slim-to-medium build and blond hair — match the description of the suspect in the sex assault.
