There was a major drug bust in East Preston yesterday.
Members of the RCMP-Halifax Regional Police Integrated Drug Section, along with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Upper Patridge River Road at 10:30 a.m. with police saying they found drugs, a sawed-off shotgun, a .22-caliber revolver, two long-barrel rifles and ammunition.
Police also say they seized 147 marijuana plants, a half a pound of marijuana, an ounce of hash, seven ounces of cocaine, scales and a large amount of Canadian currency.
“We don’t release dollar (amounts), but it was a substantial amount of money seized,” Halifax RCMP spokesman Cpl. Joe Taplin said.
Three women and two men were arrested at the scene without incident and were to remain in jail until their appearance at Dartmouth provincial court today.
