As Ottawa police continue their investigation into the suspicious deaths of a man and a woman, the province’s Special Investigations Unit is now also involved.
Andrew Ferguson, 33, of Ottawa, and a woman – who police said they will identify pending autopsy results expected early today – were found dead Saturday at 446 Cambridge St. South.
During ongoing investigation into these deaths, police determined that a previous call for service was placed on Jan. 7 for a disturbance at the same residence.
Ottawa police said Chief Vern White initiated a complaint to the Ottawa Police Service Professional Standards Section yesterday in relation to this call for service, at which time police contacted the SIU to advise them of this matter. The SIU invoked its mandate to review the police response on Jan. 7.
