Police still awaiting slain man’s autopsy

Police still don’t have the results of an autopsy regarding a 33-year-old man who was shot in late September and died of his injuries over the weekend.

Halifax Regional Police were hoping to get the results yesterday, but spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said the autopsy that began Sunday was still ongoing.

Until the cause of death is confirmed, police can’t rule if it’s a homicide.

Police also won’t release the victim’s name until a cause of death is determined.

The victim, who was shot on Sept. 29 on a pathway in Dartmouth, died of his injuries in hospital on Saturday.
