Police still seek info in year-old shooting death

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the murder of Timothy John Kelly to come forward.

It was one year ago yesterday the partially clad 44-year-old was found lying on the ground by a passerby in a west-end Halifax neighbourhood.

Police were called to 7051 Abbott St. near the Halifax Shopping Centre shortly after 10 p.m. on Dec. 12. Kelly was found lying on the ground suffering from multiple wounds, reportedly on the sidewalk in front of the home.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two days after the killing, police revealed he was gunned down, and that there were no suspects or known motive for the shooting.

The Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the homicide, a police release states.

Kelly was a mixed martial artist who trained at Team Titans Halifax. He had a record of 2-5, according to sherdog.com. Kelly also worked as a used car salesman at Sackville Fine Cars on Sackville Dr.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit at 490-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
