Police still waiting on autopsy

Police still have no definitive timeframe on when results into the autopsy of a man who died from being shot in late September will be known.

Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said yesterday they’re still awaiting tests to be completed from the autopsy and that he wasn’t sure how long that would take.

Until the cause of death is known, police can’t rule it as a homicide.

A 33-year-old shot in Dartmouth in late September died of his injuries in hospital last Saturday.

Police have made no arrests in the case but say it doesn’t appear to be random.

If deemed a homicide, it would the 10th in HRM this year.
