Police believe thieves may be targeting baby strollers after a recent spike in thefts, especially in Toronto’s west end.

Since January, half a dozen strollers have been stolen in Toronto police 11 Division alone, which includes parts of Parkdale, High Park-Swansea and Runnymede Bloor West Village.

Police are urging owners to secure or store strollers out of sight as they are taken from home porches in most cases.

“We want to make people aware that this is in fact happening,” Const. Wendy Drummond said Thursday.
