Police warn of mentally ill, dangerous woman in Lower Mainland

Vancouver police are warning the public that a woman with a history of mental illness who may have access to firearms could be in the Lower Mainland.

She may be a danger to herself or others, according to a police release issued Thursday morning.

The woman is 43-years-old, 5-5, 130 lbs., with an athletic build, curly brown hair and blue eyes. She also wears glasses.

Officers are looking for a black or red 1991 Mazda pickup truck with a black canopy and B.C. licence plates 036 3LM. The woman may be living in her truck.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked not to approach its driver and to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Denise Pekovich is wanted B.C.-wide for uttering threats, criminal harassment and breach of an undertaking.
