Politeness saved store from robbery

Good manners have paid off for a convenience store clerk in Lower Sackville.

A would-be robber walked into the Needs Store on Cobequid Road Tuesday night and demanded money and cigarettes.

When the clerk asked him to “please leave the store,” the suspect said he was the first person to ask nicely — and left.

The suspect is described as a white youth around 17-years-old. He wore a white bandana over his face, a dark blue shirt and jeans. RCMP are asking anyone with information on the suspect to contact them.
