And on this episode of Ted Cruz Zodiac Killer… all it took was one senator dumping a Dr. Pepper on Sen. Cruz to make the former presidential hopeful “hint” on Twitter that he is the Zodiac Killer.
First, let’s get out all our outrage that a delicious Dr. Pepper was wasted. Now we can move on.
Why did Sen. Ben Sasse spill Dr. Pepper on Sen. Ted Cruz?
During Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, things got a bit heated while Attorney General Jeff Sessions testified leading to the Republican from Nebraska declaring he “dumped a Dr. Pepper” on Cruz.
Sasse just said he dumped a Dr Pepper on Ted Cruz.
He just became the 2020 frontrunner.

The admission came right after Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) and Sessions clashed over Franken’s Russia-related allegations.
“There was some drama there,” Sasse noted. “Sorry to have added to the drama and distracted you for a minute. I was paying enough attention there that I dumped a Dr. Pepper on Senator Cruz. So, that’s what was — uh — distracting us on this side of the dais.”
When asked on Twitter if it was an accidental spill, Sasse replied, “No comment.”

Seriously? Ted Cruz Zodiac Killer?
No.
The awkwardly funny moment spilled onto social media with the two senators having fun exchanging tweets.
“MEMO TO OFFICE: Please place a picture of @BenSasse above the @drpepper fridge in our lobby. He is now cut off,” Cruz tweeted, along with a photo of a fridge filled with Dr. Pepper and (the best Dr. Pepper of them all) Diet Dr. Pepper.

A spokeswoman for Cruz told Fox News that Dr. Pepper is a Texas-based product, so there is a refrigerator in the lobby stocked with the brand.
“full disclosure: i was wearing my ‘Lee Harvey Oswald Was Framed’ t-shirt, Sasse replied to one tweeter, referencing to a conspiracy theory about Cruz’s father resurrected by then-candidate Donald Trump.

Cruz responded with a cryptogram á la Zodiac Killer, finally getting in on the joke.

Officially, RIP Ted Cruz Zodiac Killer memes.
Welp that meme’s dead. As dead as a ’60s Bay Area lover’s lane couple. https://t.co/E9sgeW50mc

What’s with the Ted Cruz Zodiac Killer conspiracy theory?
The Ted Cruz Zodiac Killer conspiracy theory has taken on a life of its own alleging that Cruz is the serial murderer who killed anywhere from five to 37 people in Northern California. The Zodiac Killer used to send cryptograms to the police and has never been caught.
The Daily Dot reported the first claim was made by Twitter user @RedPillAmerica three years ago before Cruz announced his intention to run for president.
#CPAC Alert: Ted Cruz is speaking!! His speech is titled: ‘This Is The Zodiac Speaking’
— The Red Pill (@RedPillAmerica) March 14, 2013
A February 2016 Public Policy poll found that 38 percent of Florida voters think it’s possible Cruz is the Zodiac Killer and 10 percent say he is the serial murderer, no doubt about it.
Yes, Cruz has never denied he’s the Zodiac Killer on the record, but there’s a bit of evidence that kills the Ted Cruz/Zodiac Killer meme free-for-all: Cruz was born in Canada in 1970, two years after the Zodiac Killer murdered his first two victims.
And he got in on the joke about three years after it started. Better late than never to up your Twiter game, senator!
if it turns out Ted Cruz isn’t the zodiac killer cult ring leader behind this season of ahs it isn’t worth watching
