‘Prettiest bride’ in China tries to save drowned man

Guo Yuanyuan, a cardiac nurse, was on a beach in northeastern China taking bridal pictures whenshe rushed to administer CPR to a drowning man, according to a report and photos published by the Daily Mail UK .

The photos show a crowd gathered around the man and Guo, still in her wedding dress, performing CPR.

Mr. Zhao, a swimmer who initially helped pull the man from the water, stated in the Daily Mail, “At the time, his lips had gone purple, and his face was going blue. It seemed like he had a sudden heart attack.”

Guo performed CPR on the man for over 20 minutes, but when an ambulance arrived, paramedics ruled that it was too late to save him and confirmed a heart attack as the official cause of death.

Despite Guo ruining her wedding dress and makeup and breaking her nails, the photos of her trying to save the man quickly spread across Chinese social media, earning her the title of “prettiest bride,” according to the Daily Mail, which quoted Guo as saying, “At that time, I only remembered that I was a nurse. My career’s responsibilities are higher than that of a bride.”

“She enjoys helping people normally, and that’s what I like about her,” Guo’s fiance, Xiao Liu, was quoted in the article.
