Province doles out cash for municipal energy audits

The Town of Truro is getting $10,000 from the provincial government to do an energy audit of its buildings.

The Town of Truro is getting $10,000 from the provincial government to do an energy audit of its buildings.

Truro-Bible Hill MLA Lenore Zann made the announcement yesterday as part of a five projects worth $132,000 in central Nova Scotia.

The money is coming from the province's ecoNova Scotia Fund for Clean Air and Climate Change.

Also receiving funding for energy inventories and audits is the Town of Antigonish ($10,000) and the Municipality of the County of Victoria ($7,884).

The Town of Westville is receiving $43,602 for an energy retrofit of its police and fire departments, while Fairwyn Developments Ltd., is getting $60,963 to design and install a large storage capacity solar hot water system.
