The QMJHL hasn’t forgotten about St. John’s, N.L.

League commissioner Gilles Courteau told the Moncton Times-Transcript this week he would consider putting a franchise back in the Newfoundland and Labrador capital in the future, despite the fact the Fog Devils were sold and relocated to Montreal in 2008.

“Yes, St. John’s is a market we are still interested in,” Courteau told the paper. “Not for an expansion franchise. It would have to be for the relocation of an existing franchise.”

Courteau said that there are no teams in the league that are currently seeking relocation.
