Quebec police make arrest in 2005 drug-related murder

La Sûreté du Québec has arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the July 2005 murder of Graeme Ferguson.

Ferguson died at the corner of Kent and Catherine streets in July 2005 following injuries sustained over the previous three to five days while he was allegedly confined and tortured.

Police said at the time of his death, Ferguson had just collected 17 kilograms of pure cocaine with a street value of approximately $4 million from the lost luggage room of the Voyageur Bus Station.

Ottawa police are working to return Paul Layoun to Ottawa to face charges.
