Queen of the rodeo crowned

Every girl aspires to be the queen of something when they grow up, and yesterday this dream came true for one girl.

Britteny Foster, 21, was crowded the new face of rodeo yesterday at the Westin Hotel, naming her the 2010 Miss Rodeo Canada.

“I have been looking up to this role since I was a little girl,” said Foster.

The Peace River native will be ruling the pro rodeo kingdom for the upcoming year attending more than 300 events during her reign.

“Working with the community and being a positive role model is important to me,” said Foster.
Foster was crowned Miss Grande Prairie Stompede in 2008 and spends her time working towards her bachelor of education and volunteering in her community.

Queenly duties began immediately for Foster, as she barely had time to wipe the tears from her eyes. “I’m an emotional person,” said Foster. “Those tears are big happy tears.”
