Racers Lap the Track for a cure

The Indy Track in Edmonton will be home to more than one race this summer, one with Formula One cars and the other with feet and two wheels.

The Lap the Track event in Edmonton is a 5-km walk, run, or roll around the Indy race track.

The race is in support of spinal cord research and is supported by Aaron Moser, Shoot For A Cure, Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation and the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation.

Each participant will collect money from sponsors and go the distance.

This is only the third race of its kind ever done, but Aaron Moser, of the Aaron Moser Spinal Cord Injury Foundation, says he hopes the fundraiser will catch on in Edmonton, too.

“This one is so original,” he says. “We’re the only ones doing it … it’s a great opportunity.

Were going to see how Edmontonians rally around causes such as this.”
